My technique to learn to draw - Translated into English

I want to share with you my technique for knowing how to draw.

I like to copy pictures to the point of "trying to turn them into hyper-realism (understood as Hyperrealism to the artist's intention to make his work look real).

This leads to pay close attention to the selected picture to portray, we have to have prior knowledge of scale, human anatomy, behavior of facial gestures, lights, shadows, perspectives, and many more things that I will detail as much as possible so we can all understand that it is this post ...

Since the beginning of mankind, the man felt the need to capture on film the world around him. The drawing is a graphical representation of an object or concept, its development is flat, or two-dimensional. Since the beginning of mankind, the man felt the need to capture on film the world around him. The drawing is a graphical representation of an object or concept, its development is flat, or two-dimensional.

The supports for the drawing were: paper (available in a huge variety), parchment, leather, shingles, slate, stone, cardboard, cloth, etc.

The tools to do the drawing: Charcoal, stilettos and chisels, graphite, pastel, sanguine, silver tip, chalk, ink, pencils, fibers, etc.

After my humble introduction to what is the drawing and materials to develop it, get down to business ...

start...

Materials:
* black pencil 2H, 2HB and 6B (with those is enough)
* Colored pencils: Faber Castell use of 24 units
* Pastel colors: colors agree

Additional Materials:
* transparency grid (can be bought at any paper and printer-friendly, will form a grid or grid with number of columns and rows known by their actions)
* Paper towels, or other type Elite
* Rule
* Eraser.
* Brushes: possible soft bristle
* PowerPoint. To analyze the photographs.

Background information before drawing:

1 - photo selection

* This is the picture I chose ...

2 - Analysis of areas with lights and shadows:

* The first is to modify the image with the simple PowerPoint tool, a tool that is accessible in most of the PC ...
This step allows us to know the sectors with more light and shade can have the images. We just have to change the image options "More shine" and "Mas contrast" to the naked eye to determine the nuances of light and shadow.

In the next picture I show how I analyze the picture:

* detect light and dark areas:

3 - Colors to use

* Taking advantage of the modified image and having an idea of what will be the final drawing, we use the modified image in PowerPoint to determine the colors that we need

1 - The first thing we need is a good place to work.

Ideally, a good table and comfortable with room light (natural light as possible) required to prevent eyestrain, since it takes much dedication and time. Avoid too strong lights and no tubes or white lights.

Top drawing:

1 - The next step is to set the blade to the table or in the workplace in which we draw to prevent unwanted movements.
* The portrait photography and has also set to be in a place where we can watch as many times as necessary.
* Step forward is to put the picture on the overhead grid (the grid method, as its name implies, is to simulate a grid on the drawing you wish to copy and another to be where the copy)

2 - Next step is to do the same on the sheet to draw.
* If necessary, very gently draw the grid on paper and then can easily delete, this requires the use of a rule.
* After that we began to "trace the edges within each square as this in the picture resulting in a quick sketch.

3 - Once the sketch, it goes on to detail by adding light and shade areas, taking into account the dominant color of the drawing (color which is seen more in the picture)
* Until now we have used common pencil and mark the shadows with the dominant color.
* The image we will read:

4 - Once the areas marked and recognized, we will continue with the remaining colors, from light to strong, depending on the picture.
* The dark areas will become more noticeable in this step and must use the same colors.
* No need to tighten the pencils, as they would feel the strokes of color and would be very difficult to hide them later. The strokes should be soft and smooth.

5 – after this step and verify each color that is being likened to the picture, we give the final touches.
* Remove the squares marked drawing to not be noticed
* It is at this step we must take into account the light and darker areas (especially in black areas)
* To delete the lines you must use the paper to soften the areas with a pencil (to take account of not passing the paper in dark areas and then areas stain more clearly because the picture)
* The light areas are denoted with chalk, for this is to scrape the white chalk on the drawing (just scrape a sharp object like a knife or scissors)
* With the brush, we evenly over the areas of light to enhance blended with other colors. If the picture mess with too much white, you need only go back to paper towels to clean.
The surplus is removed from the drawing just blow

The result is this:

No matter the design you have chosen, the final work is always the same ...
Do not lower your arms if it does not, the drawing is a method which requires practice and patience.
Do not try to draw and get a Picasso on the first try because it is impossible, but if they are defended with skill and pencil, this is a good method that gave me very good results ...
